Academics Overview

Faith needs to be strengthened through teaching, so that it can enlighten the minds and hearts of believers.” So began the apostolic letter Fides per Doctrinam by which Benedict XVI confided the task of overseeing the work of catechesis to the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization.

This affirmation is our charter as Catholic educators.

God has spoken to us “in these last days” by His Son (Hebrews 1:2), and our response of faith to Christ’s revelation of the Father is but the beginning of a great journey toward Truth and Love.

The faculty and staff of the Augustine Institute invite you to join us in that journey, a journey of study, of works of mercy, and of prayer. Our journey is guided by the very principle of the New Evangelization, a principle eloquently framed by our Holy Father emeritus: “Today’s world needs people who speak to God, so as to be able to speak of God.”

I look forward to the joy of welcoming you to our community of prayer and study, of joyful growth in the knowledge and the love of Truth.

In Christ and Mary,

Christopher Blum, Ph.D., Academic Dean
