Dear Students,
 
Happy Summer to all of you!  We are full swing into the summer session here at the AI with our Distance Education and will begin the first of two Intensive Course offerings in just a few weeks.  Dr. Edward Sri is off to to Rome for the THNE 725 Pilgramage with several of our students, so please keep all of them in your prayers. 
 
Below are some important updates, reminders and events that we would like to inform all students and faculty of:
 
  • Spring 2013 term grades are now posted in your NetClassroom accounts
  • Intensive Course informational packets were sent out in the mail today to all students enrolled in THEO 503 and/or THNE 725
  • The Memorial Day weekend holiday is coming up next weekend and our campus and administrative offices will be closed in observance of the holiday on Monday May 27th
  • May 24th is the last day to drop a summer class

  • July 1st 5th ~ Mid-term Break-  (No Classes this week)                                                                                                        In observance of the Independence Day holiday, our administrative offices will be closed Thursday July 4th and Friday July 5th. 
  • July 26th - Viva voce presentations with be held in our studio classroom, time TBA
  • July 29th- August 1st - Final Examination week

Job Opportunity~ Director of Hispanic Ministry Subscribe Email Print

Kansas City, MO

The Director of Hispanic ministry is tasked with promoting the full participation and integration of Hispanics in the life of the church. The director provides pastoral ministry assistance to parishes and Hispanic faith groups within the diocese. A primary task is assisting in the development of leaders within the community and facilitating the development of catechists and other vital ministries. In this regard the director promotes and sometimes teaches courses offered to train catechists offered by the Bishop Helmsing Institute, the diocesan adult education program. Teaching and speaking ability is a critical skill for this position. The director will also assist in promoting and helping to establish RCIA and marriage preparation courses offered in Spanish. The director is charged with taking a leading role in diocesan regional planning involving Hispanic Catholics and carrying out plans already in progress in coordination with the Bishop and pastors throughout the diocese. The director attends Hispanic events throughout the diocese, promoting and supporting Hispanic culture, faith formation and faith needs. Working closely with other departments in the Chancery to promote Hispanic ministry, the director facilitates strategic planning, stewardship planning and new initiatives in areas ranging from Respect Life and Human Rights to Family Life and Young Adult ministry. The director also takes a leading role in the Inter-Parish Hispanic Ministry Committee and act as the diocesan advisor to the Hispanic charismatic renewal. The director works closely with the Bishop in implementing his initiatives including regional planning, greater awareness of the evangelizing mission of the Church and the universal call to holiness. The Director of Hispanic Ministry must be fluent in both Spanish and English and should have at least two years experience. The candidate must be an active practicing Catholic, faithful to the Church’s magisterium who has a commitment to the faith life and should be thoroughly knowledgeable in Scripture, the Catechism and in all Church documents, especially those pertaining to Hispanic ministry. Some night and weekend work is required. A Masters degree in theology is preferred.

Director of Religious Education Position

St. Matthew Catholic Parish, in the Diocese of Peoria, IL, is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Religious Education.  Qualifications: must be a practicing Roman Catholic in Communion with the Church; Masters Degree in Theology or Catechetics is preferred, Bachelors degree is required. The DRE will oversee the RCIA, Youth Religious Education and Adult Education programs of a large parish in Champaign, IL, in addition to other assigned duties.  Salary will commiserate with education and experience.
